2025 Part D Deductible

The 2025 Medicare Part D Deductible will be increasing to $590.00 which is a $45.00 increase! This means that carriers can still elect to lower the deductible, but the Part D deductible cannot be higher than $590.00. Stand-alone Part D Plans may may offer higher monthly premiums in order to buy down the 2025 deductible.

Medicare Part D coverage in 2025 will have three phases; the annual deductible, the initial coverage, and the catastrophic coverage. You will still pay the deductible first before moving on to the initial coverage. During the initial coverage phase, enrollees pay 25% coinsurance for covered of Part D drugs. The sponsor usually pays 65% of the cost of certain drugs and 75% of the cost of all other covered Part D drugs. The manufacturer may also cover 10% of the cost of certain drugs through the Discount Program. This phase ends when the enrollee reaches the annual out-of-pocket (OOP) threshold of $2,000.

You will continue to pay the monthly price until you reach the out-of-pocket max of $2,000. Once you reach the prescription out-of-pocket max, then your medications will be covered at 100%. This phase is considered catastrophic phase, which you will be in for the remaining of the year.

Please read your Annual Notice of Change carefully when received it in the mail. Contact us or your local Medicare Broker for assistance in understanding the changes that will affect your 2025 Plan. A different Carrier may offer benefits that your current plan does not offer or will no longer be offering in 2025. As of Now Tricare for life remains the same.
